Musical Theatre: Broadway Bound
In-person with online backup | June 21-25, Mon-Fri, 9am - 4pm CT | Ages 8-12 | Taught by Jacob Riveria-Sanchez

This fun and fast-paced one-week camp borrows the most delightful, powerful and inspiring songs from the most popular Broadway shows. Weaving the songs together with scenes and dances we will produce our own unique review, complete with speaking lines for every student!

Perfect for aspiring triple-threats as well as kids who just love to sing, dance, and play.

Taught by leading musical theatre professional in DFW!

Performance: June 25, Friday, 6pm; includes dinner

About the teacher:
Jacob Rivera-Sanchez is an Actors' Equity membership candidate, freelance graphic designer, and currently serves as the business manager of Theatre Wesleyan. His work has been recognized by the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Walt Disney Pictures, ArtHouse Interactive, SpotCo, among others. Select theatre credits include: Eurydice (Director) at Theatre Wesleyan, A Doll's House, Part 2 (Assistant Stage Manager) at Stage West, West Side Story (Chino), Joseph... Dreamcoat (Ensemble), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Ensemble) all at Casa Mañana, Legally Blonde: The Musical (Stage Manager/Assistant Director) with Grand Prairie Arts Council, and The Drowsy Chaperone (Ensemble) at The Firehouse Theatre. Jacob is a member-at-large of the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County and has a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Wesleyan University. He is excited to return to Stage West for Broadway Bootcamp!

The Joy of IMPROV
9am - 12pm | Taught by ShaVonne Banks-Davis

Laugh.Clap.Improv: A one-week, half -day course dedicated to the art of improvisation.  No Scripts. Just laughs, claps, drama, and you!  Explore team-building, creative expression, and the acting skills needed to think quick and perform entertaining improv skits.  This course teaches the fundamentals of acting through creative drama activities and improv competition techniques. The week ends with a performance showcase!

The Joy of Puppetry
1pm - 4pm | Taught by Jeffrey Colangelo

Whimsical and fun: With a pair of socks, a few magic tricks and some basic mime thrown in, students will design their own unique sock puppet characters and bring them to life! Join us on an incredible journey of creativity and imagination that will culminate in a unique show of delightful scenes and solo pieces we’ll perform on the last class!

$275 for whole day, plus $20 admin/materials fee

Jeff Colangelo is a writer, director, actor, clown, fight choreographer, and teacher who has worked with major performance companies in DFW and across the nation over the last decade. He is dedicated to utilizing innovative theatre practices to create unique and engaging experiences for his students.
